In 2009 the development of IT industry trends: the economy is likely to remain slack

In the going days of the year 2008, there have been many major events, including Barack Obama in the United States won the presidential election, as well as the spreading economic crisis, and so on. These factors will also bring the IT industry a lot of uncertainty in 2009. To this end, IDG News Service has bewritten about the forecast of IT industry trends in 2009 in USA. It should be noted that this forecast does not include that Microsoft is to acquire Yahoo or Yahoo's search business, because they believe the deal will be reached by the year 2008.
First, the economy is likely to remain slack.
In 2009, the economy will continue to be reported to occupy the major news media headlines. I believe no one knows how long will the economic downturn last. However, we believe that by mid-2009, there will be a sign of improvement, growth will start at the end of the year. However, this process will be accompanied by more layoffs, the IT departments of companies will also be difficult. The hardware and consumer electronics industry in 2009 will be hit hard. FITCH believes that in 2009 the global PC shipment growth will be stagnant or even decline of 3%.
Second, DDR3 become mainstream.
Everything has two sides, as well as the economic downturn. Economic downturn can drive innovation, enterprises need new technologies and new products to attract consumers, it’s particularly prominent at DRAM market. Many DRAM makers are stepping up the development of DDR3 memory chips, with a view to the market as soon as possible. In order to promote the DDR3 memory chips, they also need the support of mainboard, chipset manufacturers, as well as microprocessors. However, we believe that DDR3 will become the new mainstream DRAM chip in 2009.
Third, notebooks will be depreciatory.
The notebook is under a wide range of concerns for its compact size, low-cost energy-saving features. Sony VGP-BPS2, dell xps m1210, toshiba a10, I believe that most you guys know that as your pets. The notebook industry will keep a high-speed development, but we believe that the average price of such products from the current 400-500 U.S. dollars down to 200-300 dollar range. This mainly depend on the production capacity of manufacturers. The greater the yield, the lower the price.

A successful venture into Information TechnologyPosted by: dvillacis in News feature
Only three months after having inaugurated the Technology Training Centre in Chemuyil, located at the heart of the Riviera Maya, 27 children, youths, and adults from this community received their certificates upon completing the Basic Computer Course, giving them vital access to information technology, which will offer them a world of new possibilities in entertainment, training, and new knowledge towards better horizons in life.
The Technology Training Centre in Chemuyil was constructed thanks to the support of Microsoft Mexico, and its business associates, who donated 14 computers, software, as well as programs necessary for training exercises, that covered subjects such as Word text processing, Excel spreadsheets, Internet navigation, even web design and management.
Training was given with no charge whatsoever for participants, and was achieved with the assistance of the State Institute for Adult Education (IEEA, by its initials in Spanish), which is endeavouring to spread its Technological Alphabetisation program. The IEEA regional coordinator, Jesus Leonel Sandi Juarez, acknowledged the great interest sparked by the TTC within the community, and stressed that the project will allow a curricular reinforcement to those who wish to conclude their primary and secondary school education through the open education system.
During her speech, Elizabeth Lugo Monjarraz, Xel-Ha’s executive director, beckoned those who received their certificates to continue their training with the very same enthusiasm demonstrated during the latter course, since preparation is a instrument that will greatly increase their opportunities of future success.
In her turn, Guadalupe Quintana Pali, director of Flora, Fauna, and Culture of Mexico, stressed how impressively immediate the generation of positive results has presented itself, with this alliance between Microsoft Mexico, Xel-Ha, and the non-profit organisation that she leads, with the common goal of creating benefits for this population.
The event was presided by Miguel Angel Parra Martin, head of the IEEA in Playa del Carmen, Miguel Pereyra Cordova, delegate of Cd. Chemuyil, as well as Daniel Elbiorn Dzubera, commercial director of Xel-Ha.
The Technology Training Centre operates within the facilities of the La Ceiba Community Centre/Library, a space open to reading, investigation, and consultation, of which 80% of its users are students, and the remainder adults. Likewise, this location is used by Xel-Ha to apply adult education programs, in coordination with the National Institute for Adult Education (INEA), workshops on painting, arts, and environmental care, as well as talks concerning social issues, all in benefit of the local population.

London 2012 Olympics telecommunications data strategy announced

Organisers of the London 2012 Olympics have announced the name of the official supplier of private mobile services to ensure best practice in telecommunications and data provision across the international event.
The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) made the announcement on Monday (January 26th) and said that Airwave will supply all mobile radio telecommunications.
Airwave has significant experience in this field and is already a provider of similar services to the emergency services.
Chairman of the 2012 Games Sebastian Coe commented: "We are now at the business end of organising the Games and our Tier Three deals are very important as we source world-class companies to provide goods and services in order to deliver truly memorable Games in 2012."
He added that secure communications was vital to the success of the Games due to the logistical complexity of co-coordinating between venues and staff.
LOCOG announced last month (December 24th) that it would be planting 2,000 mature and semi-mature trees at the Olympic Park.

MISSION TO NEXT DECADE

Tanka Prasad Paneru, General Secretary of the Cricket Association of Nepal, believes his country will be playing in the ICC Cricket World Cup in the next decade in an interview with CricketEurope.com
How popular is cricket in your country?Cricket is a game that has been gaining popularity in Nepal and is now the second most popular game only after soccer. There has been a continuous increase in the number of players being involved in cricket and the number of cricket tournaments in all the six development regions has also increased.
What challenges do you face in the growth of the game? The challenge for the growth of cricket in Nepal is infrastructure development. We have a limited number of grounds and the maintenance of the ground is a difficult task.
How much schools cricket is available in your country to aid the future development of players? There has been a lot of involvement of schools in the U-15 Cricket tournaments in Nepal as it is an inter-school cricket tournament and there are a lot of schools participating. We expect the numbers of schools competing in this tournament to continue to rise.
What are your expectations for the event and how far do you think you will be able to progress through the WCL structure? We are very confident of securing first or second position in the ICC World Cricket League Division 5 tournament and qualifying for World Cricket League Division 4 tournament to be held in Tanzania as we have been practising hard for this tournament. We certainly are looking forward to progressing through every WCL and reaching the World Cup qualifier.
Do you think cricket in your country will be in a very different position to its current state in ten years time? What are the reasons for this?Yes, Nepal will probably play the ICC Cricket World Cup in ten years time as cricket is very much growing in this nation - it can even overtake soccer as the most popular game in the country. Besides the Cricket Association of Nepal, many schools, clubs and colleges have been regularly conducting various tournaments and have been increasing prizes to the participating teams and the outstanding players. Nepal is expecting to play in the ICC World Cup Cricket and in ten years time we believe that it is possible.

sportsAmericans in the UK: Friedel shutout moves Villa up

By SANDESH
Aston Villa keeper Brad Friedel stopped this shot by West Ham’s Craig Bellamy.
(Getty Images)
Brad Friedel kept another clean sheet on Saturday, his seventh of the season, and helped lift Aston Villa to third place in the league table. Friedel made several inspired saves on the day, including a great parry of a Craig Bellamy shot and a tremendous stop off a vicious long effort from Valon Behrami.
The visitors were gifted the winning goal in the 78th minute when James Milner’s cross bounced off West Ham’s Lucas Neill and into the net. Friedel preserved the win with one last save, stopping a close-range effort from Calum Davenport in the closing minutes. In total, Friedel stopped eight shots on the day, his second highest total of the season.
Villa now sit two points above Manchester United, although the Red Devils have two games in hand, and three points ahead of fifth-place Arsenal. Although a Premiership championship seems highly unlikely, it’s notable to mention that Martin O’Neill’s boys are only five points behind leaders Liverpool.

The Boxing Day showdown with Arsenal is fast approaching, and a win could ensure that this top-four battle rages on throughout the campaign.
Premiership
Tim Howard, Evertonvs. Chelsea (Monday)
Up Next: Friday, away to Middlesbrough.
Brad Friedel, Aston Villavs. West Ham (90 minutes, 8 saves, 0 goals conceded)
See above.
Up Next: Friday, home to Arsenal.
Brad Guzan and Eric Lichaj, Aston Villavs. Hamburg SV (90 minutes, 6 saves, 3 goals conceded)
With Villa already through to the knockout stages of the UEFA Cup, Martin O’Neill fielded a less than stellar squad on Wednesday against Hamburg. The Germany outfit got off to a flying start, scoring twice in the opening 30 minutes on the way to a 3-1 win. Guzan played admirably, stopping six shots, but was a victim off some poor defending and got touched up along the way. Both Carlos Cuellar and Zat Knight looked shaky throughout and Hamburg’s finishing was first class on the day.
Clint Dempsey, Fulhamvs. Middlesbrough (90 minutes, 1 goal)
Dempsey grabbed his second goal of the season on Saturday, touching up Middlesbrough in the 59th minute for the third Fulham goal of the day. The 25-year-old midfielder scored after some great buildup play from Andy Johnson and Danny Murphy. Johnson threaded the ball from the left flank to Murphy, whose pass to the right side of the box found Dempsey, setting up a perfect one-on-one with the keeper which Dempsey won with a low shot into the left corner. The Cottagers moved up to eighth place in the league table and are now just 12 points behind their total from all of last season, a huge improvement no doubt.
Up Next: Friday, away to Tottenham.
Jonathan Spector, West Hamvs. Aston Villa (DNP)
Spector is still not active for the struggling Hammers, who have now slipped to 17th in the table. They sit just one point out of the drop zone and look like they’ll be in that dogfight all season.
Up Next: Friday, away to Portsmouth.
Championship Roundup:
Marcus Hahnemann and Bobby Convey, Reading
Hahnemann, still sidelined with an injury, watched on as Reading picked up a huge 3-1 win on Saturday against Birmingham City. The victory catapults the Royals into second place in the Championship. Hahnemann should be back shortly after the New Year, while Convey’s place remains in question.
Eddie Johnson, Cardiff
Johnson got on during the waning moments of Cardiff’s 2-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday. The striker could barely work up a sweat before the full-time whistle was blown. Although Johnson’s role has decreased recently, he should be happy just to be out there every week as his play has been below average this season.
Jay DeMerit, Watford
DeMerit, still a bit banged up, came on in the second half during Watford’s 1-0 loss to Derby on Saturday. The defender could not help preserve the draw for the visitors, as Rob Hulse headed home the winner in the 83rd minute. Nacer Barazite crossed in a nice ball that Hulse picked out for the only goal of the match.
Frank Simek, Sheffield Wednesday
An injury-ravaged Wednesday only fielded four substitutes for Saturday’s contest with Cardiff. Simek was absent from the side and his presence was sorely missed as the Bluebirds dominated possession and ultimately held the Owls to just one shot on target.
Meanwhile up in Scotland …
DaMarcus Beasley and Maurice Edu, Rangersvs. Hibernian (both DNP)
Beasley was on the substitutes list but did not get on as Rangers earned a slim 1-0 win over Hibernian on Saturday. Edu has been working with the Reserves as of late so was not dressed for the contest. On Thursday, reports surfaced that Beasley’s BMW was thrashed by vandals outside his home in Glasgow. The midfielder had to get a taxi to training. This is not the first Rangers player to meet this fate as Kevin Thomson and Kenny Miller have been victims of vandals as well.
Up Next: Saturday, home to Celtic.
Pub Talk:
MK Dons striker, Jemal Johnson, turned into provider extraordinaire on Saturday, tallying three assists during the 3-1 win over Leeds United. Johnson, who is having a great campaign thus far, provided two fantastic corners within six minutes of each other and an additional cross early in the second half. Aaron Wilbraham benefited from two of Johnson’s passes, while Sean O’Hanlon converted the other. In 13 appearances for the Dons this season, Johnson has scored four times while pitching in five assists.
